This was the first horror book I’ve ever read and I almost felt sad as I had to leave the world of the Demonata at the end of the book. I couldn’t put the book down and was up until all hours of the morning reading it, reading each line so precariously. It was quite gruesome in some parts but at the same time when it came to those bits, I really wanted to know what was going to happen to the character next. A boy in about his late teens named, Kernel was the main character of this book and from my point of view, he was a hero.
As I neared the end of the book, a series of events happened in very described detail. I honestly couldn’t get over the amount of detail. Are all horror novels like that or is it just the way Shan writes? I’m dying to know. Something happened on the last few pages leaving it open for a new book to be continued, of which happened. I’m definitely going to buy the next one.
The book was amazing and I cannot wait to read more of the Darren Shan books. See you soon!
